Building / designing a new house from scratch. And so far I managed to increase size of the three car garage from 32 x 21 to 36 x 24.
the first 2 bays will be 20' wide with 4 ‘ space / storage on one side, but t he third bay w ill be 12' wide and 24 long (some 4' storage at the deep end. .)
So planning on putting a 4 post lift.
- I already raised the cei ling of the third bay to 15'.
- Wo uld like the capability to park Full size SUV bel ow it (Navigator / G class)
- Looking for 4 post only.
- Not for maintenance work.
- On ly storage of a 4000-5 000 lb sedan (but would like the rating upwards of 8000 lbs.
- Budget upto $10,000 installed for industrial grade
So far I have only see bendpak lifts.
Any other suggestion?

At the beginning of the summer,I helped a friend install a 2 post maintenance lift in his workshop. He researched so many things, but one I remembered was auto stacker. It wasn’t a 4 post, but a front mount scissor style that took less space and was cheaper.

No recommendations on lift brands, but more of a sizing one - Remember that a fullsize crew cab / short bed pickup is ~20ft long. If there’s a possibility of having one stored there, you’re gonna want a bit more length to accomodate .

One of the lifts I am looking at
So, at 84.5" (7' tall) it’ll “ accommodate” ( my wet dream) the G class.
The ceiling height on garage is 15', so I could park one G below an put another one of top. LOL.

You are correct.
My 7 series is 205"
Our family bus, t he N avigator L is 224".
Although not the intent, but if need, be the lift should be able to accommodate 234" and the garage is already 22' (264") deep.
Most lifts I am looking at are 12' long (depth) at the minimum

Gotta be a 4 post .
I am doing it once, I’d like to have the space designed around the lift.
thanks!

Rotary is the best in the business and they make something close to what you want. But I think they only go up 78 inches.

No problem. Look around for deals. My friend found his when a business was upgrading. There are a few other manufacturers out there.

Look for used lifts from a shop closing down/moving. Good deals to be had. That being said, here’s a good read.

With that budget, I think you could swing a Rotary and be happy for the rest of your lift.

If it were me and $$ was not an issue, I’d be looking at bend pak
https://www.bendpak.com/car-lifts/parking-lifts/hd-9xl/
high lift version will provide 82" of lift and 224" long

I had an Atlas Garage Pro 8000 put in my garage in December. Best investment I’ve ever made. I chose this one after talking to a few installers, dealers, and people who have 4 post lifts and numerous people recommended the Atlas. I got the standard size, if you want to put a full size SUV under it, you’d want one of the taller/longer ones that goes up about another foot.
Total cost was $3k installed. IF you intended to do any maintenance on it, also get a sliding trolley jack so you can get the car off the wheels without using bottle or floor jacks in the jack tray.
My ceiling is 12’, I can put my 911 on it and get it all the way up (6ft to the top of the ramps) and put my GTI under with room to spare. 2018 Ou tback also fit just fine under. 2001 4 Ru nner was just barely too tall, the roof rails would hit, Sequoia is similar. With a 15’ ceiling and the higher lift model that goes up another foot, I could fit my Sequoia under with my GTI on top.
Last thing I’ll tell you is stacking cars is fun. This was a day when we were forecast to get large hail, and I’d been driving the 911 so the GTI was on top.

I am 99% certain, it’ll be a bendpak.
